EU vehicle inspection
Re-inspection after a failed EU inspection
Failed inspection? We offer fast re-inspection focused only on the items that failed — typically done in 15-30 minutes.

What is a re-inspection?
If your car failed the EU inspection you must have the defects fixed within a given deadline and present the car for a new check — called a re-inspection. Unlike a full inspection that goes through the whole car, only the items that failed at the first inspection are reviewed. That means a faster turnaround and lower price. With us a re-inspection is typically done in 15–30 minutes, depending on how many and what types of points need verifying.
What is the deadline?
The standard deadline is two months from the date of the first inspection. Depending on the defect type — for instance if classified as dangerous (category 3) — the car may also be banned from use until the fault is fixed. Minor defects (categories 1 and 2) let you keep driving, but you must show up for the re-inspection in time. After two months the Norwegian Public Roads Administration automatically deregisters your number plates — so don't wait until the last day.
What needs doing before the re-inspection?
Before showing up all faults from the report must be fixed. Bring the old report — we can find the inspection in the system, but the document helps with any ambiguities. Common examples include new brake pads, new bulb, new wiper, parking-brake adjustment or paint repair on rust that had grown too large. If you had the work done at another workshop, bring the receipt — sometimes we can accept on receipt without visual check, but not always.
How much does a re-inspection cost?
A re-inspection usually costs about half of a full inspection because we spend less time and only check the specific points. Contact us for an exact price — it varies with the number and type of items. If you do the repair and re-inspection at our workshop the same day we often offer a combined package that's cheaper than doing them separately.
What about my car type?
Re-inspection works the same for passenger cars, vans, EVs and hybrids. We handle all common brands and can do both repair and re-inspection on site so you save a trip. EVs with electronic parking brakes (a common reason for failure) need diagnostic equipment — we have it.
