How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Din Firmabil AS ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through the website dinfirmabil.net, the customer portal, booking forms and in connection with workshop assignments. This statement explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.
1. What information we collect
- Contact information — name, email, phone number and address that you provide yourself when booking, contacting us or registering.
- Vehicle data — registration number, brand, model, model year and service history linked to your vehicle.
- Booking and usage data — bookings, messages, customer portal logins and basic traffic data (IP address, browser, pages visited).
2. Why we process the data
- To carry out and follow up on bookings, service and repairs.
- To contact you about the status of your car or upcoming EU vehicle inspection.
- To operate the customer portal and give you access to your information.
- To meet legal requirements, including bookkeeping and HSE.
3. Legal basis
Processing is primarily carried out to fulfill the contract with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), to comply with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)), and for legitimate interests such as customer follow-up and security (Article 6(1)(f)). Where we send marketing without an existing customer relationship, we obtain your consent.
4. Who we share the data with
We only share data when necessary for delivery, for example with suppliers of replacement parts, payment solutions, email and SMS services, hosting providers and accountants. All data processors are bound by data processing agreements.
5. Retention period
We store personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose. Information subject to bookkeeping requirements is stored for five years after the end of the accounting year, in accordance with the Bookkeeping Act. Vehicle service history may be retained longer where there is a professional reason for doing so.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You can also withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. Inquiries can be sent to post@dinfirmabil.net.
7. Cookies
The website uses necessary cookies for the pages to function, as well as optional cookies for statistics and improvements. You can control these from your browser or via our consent banner.
8. Changes
We update this statement when laws or our practices change. The latest update is shown at the bottom of the page. For significant changes, we notify active customers directly.
