Cookies

Which cookies we use on dinfirmabil.net, why we use them and how you manage your consent.

When you visit dinfirmabil.net, we use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work, to remember your choices, and to understand how the site is used. This page explains which cookies we set, why we set them, and how you can manage your consent.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored in your browser when you visit a website. The file typically contains an anonymous identifier and is used, among other things, to keep you logged in, remember choices you have made, or measure the use of the site. Similar technologies such as local storage (localStorage) and pixels are considered cookies in this statement.

2. Legal basis

We set necessary cookies under the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act § 2-7 b, because they are strictly necessary to deliver the service you have requested. All other cookies — for statistics, performance, marketing and personalization — are only set if you give consent via the consent banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time.

3. Categories of cookies we use

3.1 Strictly necessary

These are necessary for the website and customer portal to work, and are set without consent.

  • Session and login — keeps you logged in to the customer portal and admin panel, and protects against form abuse (CSRF).
  • Consent choices — remembers which categories of cookies you have accepted or declined, so we don't ask you again on every visit.
  • Security — detects abnormal traffic and protects against automated attacks.

3.2 Functional

Used to remember choices you make yourself, such as language, region or which car you last viewed in the customer portal. Set only with consent.

3.3 Statistics and performance

Helps us understand how the website is used, which pages are popular, and where errors occur — so we can improve the service. Statistics are collected in aggregated and pseudonymized form. Set only with consent.

3.4 Marketing

Used to measure the effectiveness of ads and to display more relevant content on other websites. Set only with active consent, and may be shared with partners delivering the advertising.

4. Third-party cookies

Some services we use — such as map solutions, video players, chat widgets and analytics tools — may set their own cookies when you use the feature. These providers act as independent data controllers or data processors, and are listed in the consent banner before the cookie is set.

5. Retention period

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have varying lifetimes depending on the purpose — from a few minutes (e.g. CSRF tokens) to up to 13 months for statistics and marketing, in line with guidance from the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. You can delete cookies manually from your browser at any time.

6. How to manage your consent

  • The consent banner appears on your first visit. You can accept all, decline all, or pick categories yourself.
  • You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by opening the consent settings from the link at the bottom of the website.
  • You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Please note that this may cause parts of the website not to work as expected.

7. Privacy

When cookies can be linked to you as a person, the data is processed in accordance with our privacy policy, which describes your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

8. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at post@dinfirmabil.net.
