What does a tire hotel include?

A tire hotel at Din Firmabil AS is much more than just storage. When you deliver your tires to us, we thoroughly wash them, check tread depth and general condition, and store them under optimal conditions until the next season. Between seasons your tires have their own space in our warehouse, labelled with your name and the vehicle registration number, so the right set is always ready when you arrive for the seasonal change.

Why is proper storage important?

Tires are made of rubber, and rubber does not tolerate direct sunlight, large temperature swings or moisture over time. UV radiation breaks down the rubber and makes it hard and brittle, while heat combined with ozone in the air accelerates aging. At home in a garage or on the patio, tires often suffer much more stress than they can take over several years. In our tire hotel the tires are kept in a cool (5–25 °C), dark room without direct UV exposure, giving them several years longer service life than home storage.

What do we do between seasons?

When you have delivered the tire set, we wash all four tires with tire cleaner and rinse off road salt, mud and brake dust. The tires are dried and inspected for cuts, cracks, uneven wear and visible damage on the sidewalls. We measure tread depth at multiple points on each tire and log the condition in your customer record. If we find damage or the tread is approaching minimum, we let you know well before the next seasonal change so you can order new tires without stress.

What does a tire hotel cost?

The price depends on how many tires you store (typically 4 for a passenger car), whether the tires are mounted on rims or just separate tires, and whether you include wheel changes in the agreement. A standard tire hotel subscription for four wheels with rims typically starts at 1,000–1,600 NOK per season (half year), and often includes one free wheel change. This is one of the best value-for-money offers in the car industry — you save space at home, avoid lots of physical work, and extend the life of your tires.

Can I pick up the tires in between?

Yes, but it must be arranged. If you sell the car, move, or want to store the tires yourself for half a year, you can collect them by appointment. We then charge a small fee for the work and have the tires ready by the agreed time. Note that if you collect in the middle of a season, you must arrange storage yourself for the remaining period.
