Brake disc replacement
Brake disc replacement with quality parts. Always replaced in pairs together with pads for even braking and long service life.

When must brake discs be replaced?
Brake discs aren't eternal — they have a minimum allowed thickness stamped on the disc itself (often 22, 24 or 28 mm depending on model). Once the disc wears below this it must be replaced regardless of how the rest looks. Discs are also replaced if they have cracks, deep grooves, heavy corrosion on the friction face, or have warped from heat stress. Many people assume discs can simply be machined like before, but modern discs are usually too thin for that — they come from the factory at minimum thickness plus a small wear margin.
Symptoms and warning signs
Vibration in the steering wheel or brake pedal during hard braking is the classic sign of warped or distorted discs. You may also feel pulsing — the pedal "hops" when braking from speed. Visible grooves or lips on the disc edge, plus rust that doesn't rub off after a few kilometres of driving, are other indicators. Sharp scratches or visible cracks mean immediate replacement is needed.
What we do at the workshop
We measure disc thickness with a micrometer at minimum three points around the disc — variation greater than 0.02 mm indicates warping and warrants replacement. The disc is also checked for cracks (especially from cooling vanes towards the edge), friction-face corrosion and how the pads have worn. We always replace discs in pairs — both front wheels or both rear wheels at the same time — to ensure even braking. Brake pads should also be replaced when changing discs, as old worn pads won't bed in correctly on the new surface.
Original or aftermarket parts?
We offer OE discs, quality brands such as Brembo, ATE, Zimmermann and Bosch, plus coated discs with UV coating to resist corrosion. On EVs coated discs are particularly useful because regenerative braking means the discs rust between each actual physical brake application. The cheapest no-name discs we never recommend — they wear faster, vibrate more and can crack under thermal load.
What about the warranty?
Replacement at an authorised workshop with quality parts does not affect the new-car warranty. We document the work in the service book. We give 12 months' guarantee on work and parts.
